T10

Deutz-Fahr T10 – Shuttle ECU: Shuttle clutches not calibrated

Issue description

The transmission control unit lacks the correct engagement parameters for the forward and reverse shuttle clutches. This condition typically arises after a component replacement, software update, or memory loss, resulting in irregular, asymmetric, or harsh shifting behavior.

Applies to these machines

  • Agroplus 310, 320, 410, and 420 Profiline series tractors
  • Deutz-Fahr Agrofarm 410, 420, and 430
  • Deutz-Fahr 5090, 5100, 5110 C (LS)
  • Deutz-Fahr 5100, 5110, 5120 C (GS)
  • Deutz-Fahr Virtus J 90, 100, 110, 120

Check the cause

  1. Check if the Shuttle ECU, instrument panel, mechanical/hydraulic clutch assembly, or the solenoid-operated proportional valve was recently renewed

  2. Verify if a line programming procedure (software update) was recently carried out

  3. Test drive the tractor to check for asymmetric behavior (e.g., one clutch engages smoothly, the other engages poorly)

  4. Check for irregular behavior during test drive, such as both clutches engaging too sharply or too slowly

  5. Observe if there are different responses depending on whether forward or reverse drive is engaged, or when moving off from a stationary position

Repair steps

  1. Pre-Calibration (If Applicable)

If the HLHP Main control unit was replaced by technical assistance, the calibration must be preceded by a re-initialisation procedure.

  2. Connect Diagnostic Equipment

Connect the SDF Analyser or Serdia diagnostic interface to the tractor.

  3. Select Calibration Method

Run Automatic Calibration to allow the control unit to independently set parameters, Manual Calibration to manually alter parameter settings for a personalized clutch engagement curve, or Editing Comfort Parameters to adjust settings if the operator requests customization.

  4. Verification

Disconnect the diagnostic tool and test drive the tractor, ensuring smooth transitions when moving off from stationary and when shuttling between forward and reverse.
