Deutz-Fahr T16 – Transmission / Hydraulic / Shuttle control unit: Operator Presence Sensor Short to Battery Positive (+12V)

The control unit has detected that the operator presence sensor (seat sensor) is shorting to battery positive (+12V).

   Check the seat sensor wiring harness for a short circuit to 12V.

   Check the sensor power supply and the sensor power stage.

   Inspect the D007 connector (specifically pins 7 and 10) located near the front windshield, as this is a known failure point for this circuit.

   Inspect the wiring harness routed inside the seat suspension. Damage here is common and can sometimes also cause simultaneous issues with the clutch pedal sensor.

   Test the seat sensor itself to verify if it is internally shorted.

   Turn off the tractor and disconnect the battery before beginning electrical repairs.

   Locate the seat sensor wiring harness under the Grammer seat and unplug the connector.

   Inspect the wiring harness for chafing, bare wires, or pinching within the seat suspension mechanism that could be bridging the sensor wire to a 12V power source.

   Trace the wiring to the front of the cab and inspect the D007 connector (pins 7 and 10) near the windshield for corrosion, melting, or shorting.

   Use a multimeter to test the seat sensor switch.

   It should show an open circuit when the seat is empty and a closed circuit when occupied. If it shows voltage or a short to 12V internally, the sensor mat/switch is faulty.

   Repair any damaged wiring in the harness or replace the seat sensor mat if it has failed.

   Reconnect the battery, clear the fault codes, and test the tractor to ensure shuttle and PTO functions operate correctly when the seat is occupied.
