Deutz-Fahr T67 – Transmission ECU: 5V sensor power fault
Issue description
The control unit has detected a problem with the 5V reference power supply that feeds various sensors. This is often triggered by a voltage drop or short circuit affecting the clutch pedal position sensor and the operator seat sensor, resulting in a TC_SHUTDOWN condition that forces the transmission into NEUTRAL.

Check the cause
Visually inspect the wiring harness and connections for loose or corroded contacts on the Shuttle ECU (X54), clutch pedal position sensor (X55), and operator seat sensor (X27)
Perform a voltage test by disconnecting the clutch pedal (X55) and seat sensor (X27) connectors, turning the ignition ON, and checking for approximately 5V between Pin 1 (Positive) and Pin 3 (Negative) on the seat sensor connector
Check the 5V power supply directly at the Transmission ECU (Pin 70)
Check for a short-to-ground inside one of the sensors sharing the 5V reference, which can pull the entire circuit down
Repair steps
Isolate the Short
With the ignition OFF, disconnect all sensors on the 5V circuit (clutch pedal position sensor, operator seat sensor, and any other 5V transmission sensors).
Test the Harness
Turn the ignition ON. Measure the voltage at the ECU output (Pin 70). If 5V is present, the ECU is functioning correctly.
Plug-in Test
Plug the sensors back in one by one, checking the voltage on the circuit each time. If plugging in a specific sensor (e.g., the clutch pedal potentiometer) causes the 5V reference to drop, that sensor is internally shorted and must be replaced.
Repair Wiring
If the 5V reference is missing even with all sensors unplugged, trace the wiring harness from the ECU (X54) to the sensors (X55, X27) to locate the chafed wire or short-to-ground. Repair the damaged wire and use heat-shrink tubing to seal the repair.
Clear Codes and Calibrate
Once the wiring is repaired or the faulty sensor is replaced, cancel all alarms and cycle the ignition switch OFF, then ON.
Calibrate Clutch Pedal
If the clutch pedal position sensor was replaced, perform the clutch pedal calibration procedure to prevent triggering a secondary T70 fault code.
