Fendt 0.0.20 – A007 - Instrument cluster: CAN Bus fault between A007 instrument cluster and tractor electronics

Issue description

CAN-Bus wiring or communication failure that results in a complete loss of display and leaves no tractor functions available. Typically caused by a loss of voltage supply to the CAN-Bus.

Check the cause

  1. Verify the voltage supply for the CAN-Bus located on the A013 printed circuit board (PCB / microfuse board)

  2. Inspect microfuses F040 and F041 on the A013 board, which protect the CAN-Bus voltage supply

  3. Check the wiring harness and separation points/connectors (such as the 68-pin X100 'blue' and X101 'yellow' connectors) between the A007 instrument panel and the central electrical system for corrosion, backed-out pins, or damage

Repair steps

  1. Safely park the tractor and turn off the ignition.

  2. Access the A013 fuse board (PCB).

  3. Pull microfuses F040 and F041 and test them for continuity using a multimeter.

  4. If either fuse is blown, replace it with a new fuse of the correct amperage and re-test the tractor's functions.

  5. If the fuses are intact, use a multimeter to verify that voltage is actually reaching the A013 board and passing through the fuse terminals.

  6. Trace the CAN-Bus wiring from the A013 board to the A007 instrument cluster.

    Repair any broken wires or clean any corroded connector pins (specifically at X100 and X101).

  7. If the power supply, fuses, and wiring are all verified to be in good working order, replace the A007 instrument cluster.

    The cluster has likely suffered an internal failure.

  8. Perform an EOL (End of Line) reprogramming procedure using FENDIAS diagnostic software.

    This is required if a new A007 VDO instrument panel is installed to configure the new cluster to the tractor and prevent fault code 0.1.50.
