0.1.50

Fendt 0.1.50 – A007 - Instrument Cluster (Dashpanel): Instrument cluster — VDO instrument cluster EEPROM not programmed

Issue description

The internal memory (EEPROM) of the VDO instrument cluster has lost its programming, the data has become corrupted, or a new, unprogrammed cluster has been installed.

Check the cause

  1. Verify power supply and fuses for the CAN bus circuit board (A013 board; specifically check fuses F040 and F041) to rule out voltage drops or spikes.

  2. Ensure the wiring harness and CAN bus connections to the A007 instrument cluster are secure and free of corrosion.

  3. Connect the FENDIAS diagnostic tool to see if the A007 module can still be communicated with to rule out complete hardware failure.

Repair steps

  1. Connect diagnostic tool

Connect the Fendt diagnostic interface (FENDIAS) to the tractor's diagnostic port.

  2. Navigate to module

Navigate to the A007 Instrument Cluster module.

  3. Perform EOL programming

Perform EOL (End of Line) programming. This procedure flashes the EEPROM with the correct parameters, tractor configuration, and software.

  4. Cycle power

Cycle the tractor's key power and verify if the fault code clears and the dash functions return.

  5. Repair or replace cluster

If the EOL programming fails, the EEPROM chip rejects the flash, or the screen remains black, the cluster has an internal hardware defect. Remove the cluster from the steering column and either send it to an agricultural electronics specialist for repair, or replace it entirely.

Parts you might need

(1)
  • VDO Instrument Cluster / Dashpanel (A007)

If you replace the instrument cluster with a new or salvaged unit, EOL programming is strictly required after installation to marry the new cluster to the tractor's ECU and configure the display.
