Issue description

Indicates a failure related to the Charge Air Temperature Sensor (intercooler temperature sensor). The system has no monitoring of the intercooler/charge air temperature, which can cause the engine control unit to use a substitute value, potentially leading to reduced engine output or improper fuel mixture calculations.

Check the cause

  1. Connect the SERDIA or FENDIAS diagnostic tool to read out the specific KWP codes and confirm the fault is active in the EDC/EMR.

  2. Locate the charge air temperature sensor (B006 or B092) and visually inspect the electrical connector and wiring harness for corrosion, loose pins, or physical damage.

  3. Check the sensor's signal and ground lines for a broken wire or short circuit (short to ground or short to positive).

  4. Test the sensor's resistance values. As an NTC thermistor, resistance should decrease as temperature increases. An open circuit or out-of-range resistance indicates the sensor has failed.

Repair steps

  1. Turn off the tractor and disconnect the battery

    This prevents electrical spikes.

  2. Locate the charge air temperature sensor

    Find sensor B006/B092 on the engine's intake manifold or intercooler piping.

  3. Disconnect the electrical connector

    Disconnect the plug from the sensor.

  4. Repair wiring or replace connector

    If the diagnostic checks revealed a wiring issue, repair the damaged section of the harness or replace the connector plug.

  5. Remove the faulty sensor

    If the sensor is faulty, unscrew the old sensor from the intake/intercooler tract.

  6. Install the new charge air temperature sensor

    Tighten it to the manufacturer's specified torque.

  7. Reconnect the electrical connector

    Ensure it clicks securely into place.

  8. Reconnect the battery

  9. Clear stored fault codes

    Connect the SERDIA diagnostic tool and clear the stored fault codes from the engine control unit (EDC/EMR). The fault must be deleted following the physical repair.

  10. Verify the repair

    Start the tractor and verify that the fault code does not return and that the engine operates at full power.
