Issue description
A CAN bus communication error where the tractor's main control unit is failing to send or receive the required engine speed setpoint data to/from the Engine Electronic Data Control (EDC) or Electronic Motor Regulator (EMR), resulting in an 'Engine malfunction' or restricted operating mode.

Check the cause
Verify the A002/A050 ECU is receiving stable and correct voltage by checking fuses, relays, and ground connections
Inspect the CAN bus communication lines (G-bus/K-bus) between the ECU and the Engine Control Unit (EDC/EMR) for chafed wires, corrosion at the harness connectors, or broken pins
Connect the FENDIAS diagnostic tool to check if the ECU has lost its programming or has an EEPROM checksum error
Repair steps
Verify Power and Ground
Using a multimeter, verify the power and ground circuits feeding the A002/A050 ECU. Repair any voltage drops or damaged wiring.
Test CAN Communication
Ohm test the CAN bus lines between the main ECU and the engine EDC. If resistance is out of spec (normally ~60 ohms across the network), locate and repair the break in the wiring harness.
Perform EOL Programming
If the wiring and voltage are intact, perform an EOL (End-of-Line) programming procedure using the FENDIAS diagnostic software to re-flash the data record to the ECU.
Replace the ECU
If EOL programming fails, the EEPROM cannot be overwritten, or the module has suffered an internal hardware failure, the A002/A050 ECU must be replaced.
Post-Installation Calibration
After installing a new ECU, you must perform EOL programming to match the module to the tractor's specific chassis number and calibrate the tractor's sensors (e.g., transmission, steering, hydraulics).
