00.0.02

Fendt 00.0.02 – A008 Vario Terminal / A050 Basic Control ECU: A008 - Terminal bus fault, does not report to bus

Issue description

The Vario terminal has lost CAN bus communication with the tractor's network. The immediate consequence of this failure is that no functions are available to the operator, and the display will either go blank or freeze.

Applies to these machines

  • 922 Vario COM III
  • 924 Vario COM III
  • 927 Vario COM III
  • 930 Vario COM III
  • 933 Vario COM III
  • 936 Vario COM III
  • Fendt 300 Vario series
  • Fendt 400 Vario series
  • Fendt 700 Vario series
  • Fendt 800 Vario series
  • Fendt 900 Vario series

Check the cause

  1. Check the CAN bus power supply routed through the A013 printed circuit board

  2. Inspect microfuses F039, F040, F041, and F046 on the A013 circuit board

  3. Inspect the physical wiring harness connecting the A008 Terminal to the A013 board and A050 ECU for breaks, short circuits, or loose connector pins

  4. Observe the terminal for physical hardware symptoms such as a completely blank screen, display stripes, poor backlighting, or a loose/unresponsive membrane keypad

Repair steps

  1. Locate fuse board

Access the central electrical system and locate the A013 printed circuit board (fuse board).

  2. Test and replace fuses

Test fuses F039, F040, F041, and F046. Replace any blown fuses and turn the ignition on to see if the terminal boots up and the fault clears.

  3. Verify CAN bus voltage

Use a multimeter to verify that the CAN bus voltage supply is reaching the terminal's main connector.

  4. Diagnose internal hardware failure

If the wiring and fuses are intact but the terminal remains unresponsive or fails to report to the bus, the Vario terminal has suffered an internal hardware failure.

  5. Replace or repair terminal

Remove the defective terminal. You can either send it to a specialized agricultural electronics repair center for a remanufactured exchange or install a new OEM replacement terminal.

  6. Perform EOL programming

After installing a new or remanufactured terminal, you must perform EOL (End of Line) programming using FENDIAS diagnostic software. The terminal will not function correctly until it is programmed and paired with the tractor's ECUs.

  7. Clear fault code

Clear the stored 00.0.02 fault code from the A050 Basic Control ECU memory.
