Fendt 00.0.04 – A002 - ECU, enhanced control / A050 - ECU, basic control unit: Transmission CAN Bus Error

The control unit has lost communication with the transmission actuator and cannot send the required setpoint commands to operate the Vario transmission, resulting in a complete loss of transmission functions and a blank display.

   Verify that the A002/A050 ECU is receiving proper voltage by consulting the 'Electronics voltage supply' electrical circuit diagram.

   Inspect the CAN bus connection to the transmission bus. Look for interrupted connections, corroded pins, or damaged wiring between the ECU and the transmission actuator unit.

   Verify if the ECU has lost its programming parameters, which is a common cause for the 'setpoint missing' condition.

   Inspect Wiring

   Locate the A002 ECU (typically located in the cab on the right mudguard behind the panel) and the transmission actuator unit (located on the right side of the transmission, accessible by removing the right rear wheel and metal panel).

   Repair Harness

   Repair any broken wires or clean corroded connectors on the transmission CAN bus circuit.

   EOL Programming

   If the wiring is intact, perform EOL (End of Line) programming by connecting the FENDIAS diagnostic software to the tractor.

   Flash/Reprogram

   Run a new EOL programming sequence for the A002/A050 ECU to restore the setpoint values to the actuator.

   Clear Codes

   Once programming is complete, clear the fault codes from the memory using FENDIAS (or manually via the instrument panel if applicable).

   Cycle the ignition and verify that the transmission functions and display have returned.
