Fendt 00.0.08 – A050 - ECU, basic control unit (or A024 - ECU, EPC B): Bus fault, rear EPC (Electronic Power Control / Electronic lifting gear control)

The tractor's main control unit has lost CAN bus communication with the rear EPC module. The rear lifting gear/linkage function becomes non-operable, and there is no display for the rear EPC on the terminal.

   Check the electronics voltage supply to the CAN bus at the A013 fuse board, specifically inspecting fuses F040 and F041.

   Inspect the CAN bus wiring harness and connectors between the A050 Basic Control Unit and the rear EPC module for breaks, chafing, or corrosion.

   Check for multiple bus fault codes (e.g., 00.0.04 Transmission bus, 00.0.06 Rear PTO bus) which would indicate a central CAN bus failure or a total failure of the A050 ECU rather than an isolated rear EPC issue.

   Resolve Wiring/Power Issues

   If a blown fuse or damaged wire is found during the diagnostic checks, repair the wiring harness or replace the fuse. Clear the codes and test the rear linkage.

   EOL Reprogramming

   If the physical connections are intact, connect the FENDIAS diagnostic tool and reflash/reprogram the A050 Basic Control Unit (EOL programming).

   ECU Repair/Replacement

   If the A050 ECU fails to take programming or has suffered an internal hardware failure, remove the A050 Basic Control Unit. Send it to a specialized agricultural electronics repair service or replace it with a new unit.

   Post-Repair Calibration

   If the A050 ECU is replaced or wiped, perform system calibrations using the FENDIAS tool. For the rear EPC, this includes Calibration 8001: Rear EPC - depth control and Calibration 8002: Rear EPC - position control.
