Fendt 00.0.08 – A024 - ECU, EPC B or A050 - Basic control unit ECU: Bus fault, rear EPC
Issue description
CAN bus communication to the rear EPC module has been interrupted or is faulty. The rear power lift will not function, and there will be no related information on the display.
Applies to these machines

Check the cause
Verify the 'Electronics voltage supply' to ensure the rear EPC module is receiving adequate power and ground.
Check the CAN bus wiring harness between the basic control unit (A050 or A002) and the rear EPC module (A024). Look for open circuits, short circuits to ground/power, or severe corrosion at the connectors.
Consult the Fendt 'Electronic lifting gear control' circuit diagram for your specific model to identify the exact pinouts for continuity testing.
Repair steps
Wiring Repair
If the diagnostic checks reveal damaged wiring, corroded pins, or loose connectors between the main ECU and the EPC B module, repair or replace the affected harness sections.
ECU Testing/Replacement
If the wiring, power, and ground are all intact, the fault likely lies within the A024 (EPC B) or A050 (Basic control unit) ECU itself. The unit will need to be sent to an agricultural electronics specialist for internal repair, or replaced entirely.
EOL Programming
If a new or remanufactured ECU is installed, EOL (End of Line) programming must be performed using the FENDIAS diagnostic software to marry the module to the tractor.
Clear Fault Codes
Once the physical repair is complete, the stored fault code must be cleared. This can be done manually via the instrument panel (pressing buttons A, B, and C or both arrow keys simultaneously) or using FENDIAS diagnostic software for faults stored deep in the A050 basic control unit.
