00.0.09

Fendt 00.0.09 – A050 - ECU, basic control unit: Bus fault, front EPC

Issue description

A CAN bus communication error between the basic control unit and the front power lift system. The front EPC functions become non-operational, and there is no display for these functions on the tractor's terminal.

Applies to these machines

  • 922 Vario COM III
  • 924 Vario COM III
  • 927 Vario COM III
  • 930 Vario COM III
  • 933 Vario COM III
  • 936 Vario COM III
  • Fendt 900 Vario (COM III)
  • Fendt 700-900 SCR series
  • Fendt 300 Vario series

Check the cause

  1. Check the fault memory using the tractor's terminal for other CAN bus faults (such as 00.0.08 for the rear EPC or 00.0.0A for electric valves) to determine if there is a broader CAN bus wiring issue.

  2. Inspect the CAN bus wiring harness and connectors between the A050 Basic Control Unit and the front power lift components for corrosion, chafing, or loose pin connections.

  3. Verify if the A050 ECU has lost its parameters, which is often caused by voltage drops or internal memory errors.

Repair steps

  1. Resolve Wiring Issues

If physical damage is found on the CAN bus lines leading to the front EPC, repair the wiring harness and secure the connections.

  2. EOL Programming

Perform EOL (End of Line) programming using the FENDIAS diagnostic software to re-flash or re-parameterize the A050 Basic Control Unit.

  3. ECU Repair/Replacement

If EOL programming fails or the A050 ECU has suffered a hardware failure (e.g., it no longer functions or drops multiple bus signals simultaneously), remove the unit. Send it to a specialized agricultural electronics repair facility or replace it with a new unit.

  4. Clear Codes

Use the FENDIAS diagnostic software to permanently delete the fault codes from the fault memory after the repair is completed, as they cannot always be cleared via the dashboard terminal.
