Fendt 00.0.0A – A050 - ECU, Basic Control Unit: Bus fault, el. valve
Issue description
Communication failure on the CAN bus network between the basic control unit and the tractor's electronic valves. Associated functions become non-operable, no information is displayed for them on the terminal, and the system requires EOL (End of Line) programming to resolve software-side lockouts.

Check the cause
Inspect the CAN bus wiring harness connecting the A050 Basic Control Unit to the electronic hydraulic valves for line discontinuities, chafed wires, or corroded connector pins
Verify that the A050 ECU is receiving proper voltage and has a solid ground connection
Check for accompanying 00.0.XX series codes (e.g., 00.0.04 or 00.0.08) which usually point to a central wiring issue or a completely failed A050 module rather than a single valve issue
Note that fault codes stored in the A050 Basic Control ECU must be cleared using FENDIAS diagnostic software, not just the dashboard terminal
Repair steps
Isolate the Fault
Using FENDIAS, monitor the live communication status of the electrical valves. If communication is down for all valves, the fault lies in the main bus line or the A050 ECU itself.
Repair Wiring
If a break or short is found in the CAN bus wiring harness leading to the valves, repair the wiring and clear the codes via FENDIAS.
Remove the A050 ECU
If the wiring is intact and the valves are healthy, the A050 Basic Control Unit has likely suffered an internal hardware or EEPROM failure. Locate and carefully disconnect the A050 module.
Repair or Replace
Send the A050 unit to a specialized agricultural electronics repair facility (which can often rebuild the board and save the original programming) or install a new OEM replacement.
EOL Programming
If a new or remanufactured A050 ECU is installed, you must perform EOL (End of Line) programming using the FENDIAS dealer software. The tractor's systems will remain non-operable until the new module is configured to the tractor's specific chassis and options.
