Fendt 00.0.1E – A007 (Instrument panel) / A050 (Basic control unit ECU): Bus error output from EDC on instrument cluster
Issue description
CAN bus communication failure between the Electronic Diesel Control (EDC) and the instrument cluster, causing the instrument panel to not function and have no display.
Applies to these machines
9 machines- 309 Vario COM III
- 310 Vario COM III
- 311 Vario COM III
- 312 Vario COM III
- 300 Vario COM III
- 400 Vario

- 900 Vario COM III
Check the cause
Check the power supply for the CAN bus on the A013 printed circuit board.
Inspect microfuses F040 and F041 on the A013 fuse board, which protect the CAN bus voltage supply.
Check the CAN bus wiring harness and connectors between the EDC (Engine Control Unit) and the A007 instrument panel for breaks, corrosion, or short circuits.
Repair steps
Test and replace fuses
Locate the A013 microfuse PCB and test fuses F040 and F041. Replace if blown and re-test the system.
Test CAN bus wiring
If the fuses are intact, perform a continuity and resistance test on the CAN bus lines between the A050 Basic Control Unit, the EDC, and the A007 Instrument Panel. Repair any damaged wiring.
Perform EOL programming
If the wiring and voltage supply are confirmed good, perform EOL (End of Line) programming on the instrument panel/ECU to resolve the communication fault.
Repair or replace instrument panel
If EOL reprogramming fails or the cluster displays EEPROM/checksum errors, remove the A007 VDO instrument panel for specialized mechatronic repair or complete replacement.
