Fendt 00.0.1E – A050 - ECU, basic control unit: Bus fault, EDC7 reports incorrectly to instrument panel
Issue description
CAN bus communication failure or data mismatch between the Engine Control Unit (EDC7) and the tractor's instrument cluster/basic control system.
Applies to these machines

- Fendt 900 Vario (COM III)
Check the cause
Check Electronics Voltage Supply: Verify that the instrument cluster and the A050 ECU are receiving the correct operating voltage.
Inspect CAN Bus Wiring: Check the physical wiring harness and connector pins between the EDC7, the A050 Basic Control Unit, and the A007 Instrument Panel. Look for corrosion, loose connections, or broken wires that could interrupt the CAN bus signal.
Check for Accompanying Codes: Look for other bus faults (such as 00.0.1F - Bus fault, fault management) which may point to a broader network failure.
Repair steps
Wiring Repair
If physical damage or corrosion is found in the CAN bus lines between the EDC7 and the instrument panel, repair or replace the affected wiring harness sections.
EOL Programming
If the wiring and voltage supply are intact, connect the tractor to the FENDIAS diagnostic software and perform EOL (End of Line) programming to re-flash/reprogram the A050 ECU and/or the A007 Instrument Panel to restore proper communication parameters.
Module Replacement/Repair
If EOL programming fails or the module is internally shorted, the A050 Basic Control Unit will need to be removed and either sent out for specialized board repair or replaced entirely.
