00.1.4E

Fendt 00.1.4E – A007: Instrument Cluster Memory Checksum Fault

Issue description

The internal memory (EEPROM) inside the instrument cluster has failed a checksum validation specifically for the warning icon images. This corruption causes display errors or malfunctions on the instrument cluster screen.

Applies to these machines

  • 207 Vario
  • 208 Vario
  • 209 Vario
  • 210 Vario
  • 211 Vario
  • 300 Vario (COM III)
  • 400 Vario (COM III)
  • 700 Vario (COM III / SCR)
  • 800 Vario (COM III / SCR)
  • 900 Vario (COM III / SCR)

Check the cause

  1. Attempt to clear the fault code manually from the A007 memory by calling up the fault code on the display and pressing buttons A, B, and C (both arrow keys and the enter key) simultaneously, then cycle tractor power.

  2. Verify the power supply to the A007 instrument cluster to rule out voltage drops or spikes that can corrupt EEPROM memory.

  3. Check the power supply for the CAN bus located on circuit board A013, specifically inspecting fuses F040 and F041.

Repair steps

  1. EOL Programming

Connect the tractor to the FENDIAS diagnostic software.

  2. Reflash the Cluster

Attempt to reflash or reprogram the A007 Instrument Cluster using FENDIAS to rewrite the corrupted warning icon memory.

  3. Hardware Replacement or Repair

If EOL programming fails, the EEPROM chip is physically damaged. Remove the A007 instrument cluster and either send it to an agricultural electronics specialist for board-level repair or replace the entire unit.

  4. Post-Repair Calibration

If a new or repaired cluster is installed, perform EOL programming on the new unit to marry it to the tractor's A050 basic control unit.

  5. Clear Ghost Codes

Use FENDIAS to clear the residual 00.1.4E fault codes stored in the A050 (Basic Control Unit) and A051/A099 (Engine Control Unit).
