Fendt 00.1.50 – A007 - Instrument Cluster: VDO instrument cluster - EEPROM not programmed

The internal memory (EEPROM) of the instrument cluster has lost its configuration data, suffered a checksum error, or failed to retain its End of Line (EOL) programming. As a result, the instrument cluster will experience display malfunctions or fail to operate correctly.

   Verify the power supply to the CAN bus and the instrument cluster. Check circuit board A013, specifically inspecting fuses F040 and F041, as voltage drops can cause memory faults.

   Look for accompanying A007 checksum fault codes (e.g., 00.1.4D, 00.1.4E, 00.1.4F), which indicate specific memory failures for menu icons or warning images.

   Attempt to clear the codes using FENDIAS diagnostic software to determine if the EEPROM error is a hard fault or a temporary glitch.

   Connect Diagnostic Tool

   Connect the tractor to the official FENDIAS diagnostic software.

   Perform EOL Programming

   Navigate to the instrument cluster (A007) module and initiate an EOL (End of Line) reprogramming sequence. This will attempt to re-flash the EEPROM with the correct tractor configuration data.

   Verify Repair

   Cycle the key and check if the instrument cluster retains the programming and clears the 00.1.50 fault code.

   Hardware Replacement (If Programming Fails)

   If the EOL programming fails to write to the EEPROM, the internal memory chip or microcontroller has physically failed. Disconnect the battery (negative terminal first).

   Remove the Cluster

   Remove the dashboard trim and extract the A007 instrument cluster.

   Repair or Replace

   You must either send the VDO instrument cluster to a specialized agricultural electronics repair center for a microcontroller/EEPROM board repair, or replace the entire instrument cluster assembly.

   Program New Unit

   If a new or remanufactured cluster is installed, you must perform EOL programming on the new unit via FENDIAS to pair it with the tractor's basic control unit.
