Check the cause
Test the 'Up' button on the dashboard control console for tactile feedback. Check if the membrane is torn, collapsed, or if debris is preventing the microswitch from depressing.
Access the tractor's onboard Vario diagnostics menu to monitor live button states. Verify if the ECU registers any input at all when the 'Up' key is pressed.
Consult the 'Instrument cluster' circuit diagram for your specific model. Inspect the wiring harness and connectors between the A036 control panel and the A007 instrument cluster for pinched wires, corrosion, or loose pins.
Repair steps
Power Down
Turn off the ignition and disconnect the tractor's battery to prevent electrical shorts.
Disassembly
Remove the retaining screws and plastic trim surrounding the A036 control panel / instrument cluster on the dashboard.
Removal
Carefully pull the control console forward and disconnect the multi-pin electrical harness from the rear of the unit.
Replacement/Repair
The individual buttons are usually integrated into a single printed circuit board (PCB) or membrane pad. You will need to replace the control panel board or install a remanufactured control console.
Reinstallation
Connect the wiring harness to the new/repaired control panel, seat it into the dashboard, and secure the trim.
Clear Fault Codes
Reconnect the battery and turn the ignition on. Canceling a fault code on the screen does not delete it from memory. To clear the memory of the A007 Instrument panel, navigate to the fault code screen and press buttons A, B, and C simultaneously.
Testing
Test the "Up" button to ensure it navigates the terminal/display correctly and verify the code does not return.
