Fendt 00.1.76 – Instrument Cluster / Central Electrical System: Esc key pressed > 30s

The system has detected that the 'ESC' (Escape) key on the tractor's control console has been continuously depressed or shorted closed for more than 30 seconds.

   Inspect the ESC key on the control console to see if it is physically jammed down by dirt, spilled liquids, or debris.

   Press the ESC key to see if it springs back normally. A lack of a 'click' or a collapsed feel indicates the internal membrane switch has failed mechanically.

   Turn off the tractor, disconnect the battery for a few minutes, and reconnect it. If the code returns immediately upon startup without touching the button, the switch is internally shorted.

   Inspect the wiring harness connecting the A036/A037 control panel to the central electrical system (e.g., connector X1357) for pinched wires that could cause a short circuit.

   Clean the Console

   If the button is simply sticky, use a plastic safe electronic contact cleaner (like isopropyl alcohol) around the edges of the ESC key and gently work the button to free it.

   Prepare for Replacement

   If the button is permanently failed, the control console must be repaired or replaced. Turn off the ignition and disconnect the tractor's battery.

   Remove the Console

   Carefully pry up or unscrew the trim panels surrounding the affected control console (Right or Left dashboard panel).

   Disconnect Harness

   Unplug the multi-pin wiring harness from the bottom of the A036/A037 control panel.

   Swap the Unit

   Remove the mounting screws holding the console in place. Install the new or refurbished control console.

   Reassembly & Testing

   Reconnect the wiring harness, reinstall the trim, and reconnect the battery. Turn the ignition on and verify that fault code 00.1.76 is no longer active and that the ESC key navigates the Varioterminal menus correctly.
