00.1.76

Fendt 00.1.76 – Instrument Cluster / Instrument Panel: A037 - Control panel, dashboard left: Esc button pressed > 30s

Issue description

The system has detected the "Escape" (Esc) button on the left dashboard control panel has been continuously depressed for more than 30 seconds. The system registers this as a fault (either due to a physically stuck button, a short circuit, or an operator holding it down), and as a safety/functional consequence, the button becomes non-operable (ignored by the system) until it is released or the fault is cleared.

Applies to these machines

Check the cause

  1. Visually and physically inspect the 'Esc' button on the left dashboard control panel (A037) for sticking, dirt, sticky residue, or debris wedged in the housing.

  2. Perform a mechanical test by pressing and releasing the button to see if it springs back normally or if the tactile 'click' is missing, which indicates a collapsed microswitch.

  3. Check the wiring harness and connections behind the left dashboard control panel to ensure there is no short circuit causing the button signal to be continuously active.

  4. Perform a software reset using the tractor's diagnostic menu to clear the stored fault codes. Cycle the ignition and see if the code returns immediately without the button being pressed.

Repair steps

  1. Turn off the tractor ignition and disconnect the battery to prevent electrical damage.

  2. Carefully unclip and remove the left dashboard control panel (A037) from the side console.

  3. Inspect the Esc button mechanism. If it is stuck due to agricultural dust or debris, clean the housing and switch area with compressed air and electrical contact cleaner.

  4. If the button is physically broken or the internal microswitch on the circuit board has failed (shorted closed), the control panel board will need to be repaired or replaced.

  5. Install the new or repaired control panel and reconnect the wiring harnesses.

  6. Reconnect the battery, turn on the ignition, and clear the fault codes from the instrument cluster memory.

  7. Test the Esc button to verify normal operation.
