Fendt 01.1.07 – Engine Control Unit (A051 / A169): Checksum engine parameter incorrect / Incorrect engine parameters
Issue description
This fault code indicates a data integrity issue within the engine control unit's memory. Specifically, the checksum for the engine parameters does not match the expected value. When this code is active, the tractor will typically limit torque and restrict operations, though travel in emergency mode is still possible.

Check the cause
Verify Emergency Mode: Confirm the tractor can still drive in emergency mode. If the tractor does not move at all, there may be secondary CAN bus communication faults (such as a G-bus interruption) preventing the transmission of data between the basic control unit (A050) and the engine ECU (A051).
Check for Accompanying Codes: Look for related codes like 01.1.08 (Checksum of Power Boost parameter incorrect) or 01.1.A0 (Wrong engine control unit / wrong EOL programming), which further point to software corruption.
Wiring & Voltage: Ensure the ECU is receiving stable voltage. Voltage spikes or drops during starting can sometimes cause memory corruption leading to checksum errors.
Repair steps
Connect Diagnostic Tool
Connect the FENDIAS diagnostic interface (or Deutz SERDIA tool) to the tractor's diagnostic port.
Perform EOL Programming
Perform EOL (End of Line) programming to rewrite the correct engine parameters and data records to the ECU, correcting the checksum mismatch.
Clear Codes
Once the EOL programming is complete, cycle the key and clear the stored fault codes.
ECU Replacement (If EOL Fails)
If the ECU refuses to accept the EOL programming or the memory chip is physically damaged, the A051 (EDC 7) module must be replaced. The replacement unit will need to be cloned from the original or virginized and programmed to match the tractor's immobilizer (A077) and engine configuration.
