Fendt 01.1.32 – A077 - Immobiliser ECU: B083 - Immobiliser control / Ignition key without transponder recognised
Issue description
The immobiliser system has detected that the key inserted into the ignition barrel does not contain a valid transponder chip, or the transponder data cannot be read. The engine control unit (EDC) is locked out, and the tractor cannot be started with this key.

Check the cause
Verify the key is not a generic, mechanically cut spare key; it must have an internal transponder chip programmed to the tractor.
Inspect the key for damage, checking if the plastic head is cracked or broken, which may have caused the transponder chip to fall out or become damaged.
Test with a known-good, 'taught-in' spare key. If the spare key works, the issue is isolated to the first key.
Check for related codes (e.g., 01.1.34 or 01.1.36). If a known-good key also throws codes, this indicates a failure of the immobiliser antenna ring, wiring harness, or the A077 ECU itself rather than a bad key.
Repair steps
Clear the Fault
Remove the unrecognized key from the ignition.
Use a Taught-in Key
Insert a valid, programmed transponder key. The OEM remedy for this specific code is simply to 'Use taught-in key'.
Emergency / Quick Fix (Broken Key)
If the original transponder key snapped in the ignition or the blade broke off, hold the plastic head of the broken key (which contains the transponder chip) directly against the ignition barrel's immobiliser ring while using a standard/generic cut key to turn the ignition switch.
Programming a New Key
If the transponder key is lost or permanently damaged, a new OEM transponder key must be purchased and electronically paired ('taught-in') to the tractor's A077 Immobiliser ECU by a dealer using FENDIAS diagnostic software.
