Fendt 01.1.35 – A077 - Immobiliser ECU / B083 - Immobiliser control unit: B083 - Immobiliser control is in "ready for teach-in" mode, A051 (EDC) is not.
Issue description
The immobiliser control unit (B083) is in a state waiting to be programmed or synchronized ("ready for teach-in" mode), but the Engine Control Unit (EDC) is not in the corresponding teach-in state. This communication mismatch prevents the vehicle from starting. This condition typically occurs if the immobiliser control unit or the engine control unit has been recently replaced or if the system has lost its activation programming.

Check the cause
Verify if the engine control unit (EDC) or the immobiliser control unit was recently replaced, as this is the primary trigger for the 'ready for teach-in' mismatch.
Check for other active immobiliser codes (such as 01.1.30 for no key taught in, 01.1.31 for invalid transponder data, or 01.1.32 for key without transponder) to rule out a basic ignition key failure.
Inspect the B083 immobiliser control unit (located in the cab, on the left side of the steering column behind the panel) and check the separation point/connector (X1494) for physical damage or loose connections.
Repair steps
Connect diagnostic tool
Connect the FENDIAS diagnostic tool to the tractor.
Navigate to calibration menu
Navigate to the "Setting and calibrating" menu for the electrical system/starter lockout.
Teach in vehicle key
If new keys are being introduced, execute the procedure: "Teaching in the vehicle key".
Synchronize modules
Execute the specific calibration procedure: "Teach in the B083 immobiliser control unit and/or A051 ECU, engine control unit". This will synchronize the immobiliser control unit with the engine control unit so both exit the teach-in mode.
Clear codes and test
Clear the stored fault codes and cycle the ignition to confirm the engine starts successfully.
Parts you might need
(3)Immobiliser Control Unit (B083 / A077)
Located on the left side of the steering column. Must be ordered using the specific tractor chassis number, as immobiliser components are security-coded.
Engine Control Unit (A051 - EDC 7 / A099 - EDC 17)
Requires EOL programming upon installation.
Ignition Key with Transponder
Must be taught-in to the B083 immobiliser control unit before the tractor can start.
