Fendt 01.1.36 – A077 - Immobiliser ECU / A051 / A127 / A169 - Engine Control Unit: B083 - Immobiliser control
Issue description
There is no immobilisation communication exchange between the Immobiliser ECU and the Engine Control Unit (EDC). The engine control unit's communication with the immobilizer is unsuccessful. This typically means the system cannot read the ignition key's transponder, there is a CAN bus communication failure between the modules, or the engine control unit is incorrectly programmed. Consequences: The starting quantity of fuel is not released, and the vehicle cannot be started.

Check the cause
Ensure the operator is using a taught-in transponder key, as a standard cut key will not communicate with the immobilizer aerial (U001)
Check the wiring harness and CAN bus connections (specifically the transmission bus and comfort bus) between the A077 Immobiliser ECU and the Engine Control Unit (EDC)
Connect a laptop with FENDIAS or SERDIA diagnostic software to read out the KWP codes and verify if the EDC is communicating on the network
Verify if the engine control unit has lost its programming or if there is a serial number mismatch between the A077 and the EDC
Repair steps
Clear and Retest
Confirm the fault code. Canceling a fault code from the terminal display does not remove it from the basic control unit (A050) or EDC. Use FENDIAS to clear the history and see if 01.1.36 returns upon key cycle.
Repair Wiring
If a physical break or short is found in the CAN lines between the A077 module (often located in the cab/steering column area) and the engine EDC, repair the harness.
EOL Programming
If the EDC is incorrectly programmed or has lost its performance curve data, perform EOL (End of Line) programming using the FENDIAS diagnostic tool.
Module Replacement & Key Teaching
If the A077 Immobiliser ECU or the Engine Control Unit must be replaced, the two modules must be synced to recognize each other's data (serial number, performance curve, etc.). Connect a laptop with EOL software to the transmission and comfort bus. The new immobilizer must be taught to recognize the vehicle keys (it can store a maximum of 3 keys).
