03.1.18

Fendt 03.1.18 – A039 - MFA (Multifunction Armrest) / A100: Invalid parameters for acceleration rate

Issue description

The parameters stored in the EEPROM for the accelerator pedal resolution/acceleration rate are invalid, missing, or corrupt. The tractor's system will ignore the invalid data and default to using predefined (fallback) values to maintain basic operability.

Check the cause

  1. Verify active faults on the terminal. If codes like 03.1.01 (Faulty hardware/RAM) or 03.1.02 (Incorrect EEPROM checksum) are present, the armrest's internal memory has failed and calibration will not fix the issue.

  2. Check prerequisites for calibration: ensure the tractor is stationary (speed < 0.1 km/h), the transmission is in neutral, the handbrake is applied, and the ignition is ON.

  3. Check CAN communication to ensure there are no active CAN bus communication errors between the A039 (MFA) and A050 (Basic Control ECU).

Repair steps

  1. Turn ignition ON

Turn the ignition ON. Do not start the engine unless specifically prompted by the terminal.

  2. Prepare tractor for calibration

Apply the handbrake and ensure the transmission is in neutral.

  3. Access calibration menu

Access the tractor's diagnostic/calibration menu on the terminal.

  4. Enter calibration code

Enter Calibration Code 4010 (Accelerator pedal resolution calibration).

  5. Complete calibration

Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the calibration.

  6. Troubleshoot calibration failures

If the calibration fails, the terminal will output an 'F' code: F02 (Calibrated values are invalid, often requires EOL reprogramming), F03 (A039/A100 MFA is not responding), or F08 (Calibration took too long - over 30 seconds).

  7. Replace hardware if necessary

If calibration code 4010 is successful but the fault returns after a power cycle, or if EOL (End of Line) programming fails, the A039 Multifunction Armrest hardware is defective and must be replaced.

Parts you might need

(6)
  • Multifunction Armrest (MFA) / Armrest Comfort Module / Armrest Operating Element

Generic part name. A new armrest will require EOL programming by an authorized Fendt dealer to pair it with the tractor's A050 ECU.
