03.1.30

Fendt 03.1.30 – A039 - MFA / A100 - MFA: A039 - MFA, multifunction armrest: Invalid parameters for linear module (valve rockers)

Issue description

The tractor's system has lost or cannot validate the calibration data for the linear module (the rocker switches used to control the hydraulic valves) on the multifunction armrest. When this fault is active, the system defaults to using predefined fallback values to maintain basic functionality.

Applies to these machines

  • 922 Vario COM III
  • 924 Vario COM III
  • 927 Vario COM III
  • 930 Vario COM III
  • 933 Vario COM III
  • 936 Vario COM III
  • 200 Vario (V/F/P)
  • 300 Vario (COM III)
  • 400 Vario (COM III)
  • 500 Vario (S4)
  • 700 Vario (COM III / SCR)
  • 800 Vario (COM III)
  • 900 Vario (COM III / SCR / Gen6)

Check the cause

  1. Check the linear module (valve rockers) on the armrest for physical damage, sticking, or debris preventing full travel.

  2. Ensure there are no other active CAN bus communication faults related to the A039/A100 module (e.g., fault 00.0.03), which would prevent the armrest from communicating with the basic control unit (A050).

  3. Attempt a software calibration of the linear module before replacing any hardware.

Repair steps

  1. Access Calibration Menu

Turn on the tractor and access the calibration menu via the terminal.

  2. Run Calibration Code 1003

Enter calibration code 1003 (designated for 'A039 - MFA, multifunction armrest linear module 1 / valve rockers').

  3. Perform Calibration

Follow the on-screen prompts to move the valve rockers through their full range of motion so the system can learn the minimum, maximum, and neutral parameters.

  4. Monitor for Calibration Errors

If the calibration fails, the terminal will output a specific sub-fault: F01 (Preliminary conditions not satisfied), F02 (Calibrated values are faulty), F03 (MFA not responding), or F08 (Calibration taking too long).

  5. Hardware Replacement

If you receive an F02 error repeatedly, the linear module or the entire armrest assembly has failed and must be replaced.

  6. EOL Programming

If a new multifunction armrest or linear module is installed, End of Line (EOL) programming must be performed via FENDIAS (Fendt's diagnostic software), followed by repeating calibration code 1003.

Parts you might need

(2)
  • Linear Module (Valve Rocker Switch)

Fitment: Fendt Vario Multifunction Armrest (Brown/Color-coded depending on the specific valve).

  • Multifunction Armrest (MFA) Assembly

OEM Part: Varies heavily by tractor configuration (e.g., Profi vs. Power equipment levels).
