04.1.27

Fendt 04.1.27 – Transmission Control Unit (Gearbox): B014 - Sensor, hydrostatic collecting shaft

Issue description

The system has detected a 'Sensor faulty' or 'Signal fault' (direction or speed signal fault) from the hydrostatic collecting shaft. The tractor will typically disable certain automated functions (like TMS or rapid reverse) but continuation in emergency mode is usually possible.

Applies to these machines

  • 922 Vario COM III
  • 924 Vario COM III
  • 927 Vario COM III
  • 930 Vario COM III
  • 933 Vario COM III
  • 936 Vario COM III
  • 200 Vario series (e.g., 207, 208)
  • 300 Vario series (e.g., 309, 310, 311, 312, 313)
  • 400 Vario series (e.g., 411, 412, 413, 414, 415)
  • 700 Vario series (e.g., 711, 712, 714, 716, 720, 722)
  • 800 Vario series (e.g., 815, 817, 818)
  • 900 Vario series (e.g., 916, 920, 924, 926, 930, 933, 939)
  • 1000 Vario series (e.g., 1038, 1042)

Check the cause

  1. Inspect the wiring harness and the specific connector for the B014 sensor (X163) for corrosion, moisture, or wire breaks.

  2. Verify the 8.5V power supply to the sensor.

  3. Perform a plausibility check by comparing the speed of the B014 sensor with the B015 sensor to ensure the issue is actually the B014 sensor and not the B015 sensor or a mechanical slippage issue.

  4. Use the FENDIAS diagnostic tool or the tractor's onboard terminal to view the live decimal values and bar indicators for the programmed change of driving direction.

Repair steps

  1. Preparation

Park the tractor on a level surface, engage the handbrake, and turn off the ignition.

  2. Locate the Sensor

Locate the B014 hydrostatic collecting shaft sensor on the transmission housing (often situated near the B015 bevel pinion sensor).

  3. Removal

Disconnect the X163 electrical connector. Unbolt and carefully remove the faulty B014 sensor from the transmission housing.

  4. Installation

Install the new sensor. If you are installing the updated sensor part number, it features a new straight socket design and you must install the OEM adapter plug (Part No. H334900040500) between the tractor's harness and the new sensor.

  5. Calibration

Calibrate the transmission ratio characteristic (Calibration code 4007). Warm the transmission oil to approx. 40°C, apply the hand brake, start the engine, and ensure the tractor is completely stationary. Set engine speed to 1600 rpm ± 30 rpm, ensure the neutral switch is not in neutral (active standstill), and run the calibration sequence via the terminal. Wait at least 15 seconds after turning the ignition key to '0' to allow settings to save.
