Fendt 04.1.31 – Transmission Control System: B014 - Hall sensor for accumulator shaft direction - Signal fault / Direction signal faulty

The transmission control system has detected an implausible signal, a missing signal, or a faulty direction reading from the B014 Hall sensor. This sensor is responsible for measuring the rotational speed and direction of travel of the hydrostatic accumulator/collecting shaft within the Vario transmission.

   Check the Power Supply: The B014 sensor requires an 8.5V supply. Check for an 8.5V supply fault (protected by A013 fuse 1 or A013 fuse 16).

   Wiring and Harness Inspection: Consult the 'Transmission control' circuit diagram. Inspect the wiring harness and connectors between the B014 sensor and the transmission control unit for chafing, corrosion, or loose pins.

   Diagnostic Tool Verification: Use the FENDIAS or SERDIA service diagnostics program (or the tractor's Variotronic terminal) to read the live measured values of the B014 sensor. Check if the sensor is outputting a plausible decimal value for forward/reverse direction when the tractor is moving.

   Park and secure tractor

   Safely park the tractor on level ground, turn off the ignition, and engage the parking brake.

   Locate sensor

   Locate the B014 hydrostatic collecting shaft sensor on the Vario transmission unit.

   Inspect fuse block

   Inspect the A013 fuse block. If fuse 1 (or 16) is blown, replace it and test for a short circuit in the 8.5V sensor circuit.

   Check voltage and clean contacts

   Disconnect the electrical connector at the B014 sensor. Clean the contacts and verify that 8.5V is reaching the connector when the ignition is ON.

   Determine if sensor replacement is needed

   If the wiring and voltage are correct but the signal remains faulty, the B014 Hall sensor has failed internally and must be replaced.

   Remove faulty sensor

   Unbolt and remove the faulty B014 sensor from the transmission housing.

   Install new sensor

   Install the new OEM sensor and torque it to the manufacturer's specifications. Reconnect the wiring harness.

   Clear codes and test drive

   Turn on the ignition, clear the fault codes using the diagnostic terminal, and perform a test drive to ensure the transmission shifts smoothly and the code does not return.
