04.1.42

Fendt 04.1.42 – Transmission Control System: B014 - Hall sensor for accumulator shaft speed

Issue description

The fault indicates a 'Sensor faulty' or 'Speed signal faulty'. When this code is triggered, the tractor's transmission control system loses the speed signal from the hydrostatic accumulator shaft, typically allowing continuation in emergency mode.

Check the cause

  1. Check the 8.5 V power supply to the B014 sensor from the A013 module and inspect the corresponding fuse (Fuse 07 or Fuse 1).

  2. Inspect connector X163 and the wiring harness leading back to the transmission control unit for breaks, corrosion, or shorts.

  3. Access the transmission diagnostics menu via the Variotronic terminal (A008) and compare the 'REAL' transmission adjustment value to the 'IDEAL' and 'VE' values. A missing or erratic 'REAL' value indicates a likely sensor fault.

Repair steps

  1. Preparation

Park the tractor on a level surface, apply the handbrake, and turn the ignition OFF.

  2. Locate the Sensor

Locate the B014 hydrostatic collecting shaft sensor on the Vario transmission housing.

  3. Disconnect

Unplug the X163 electrical connector from the B014 sensor.

  4. Removal

Unbolt and carefully remove the faulty B014 Hall sensor from the transmission block.

  5. Installation

Install the new OEM speed sensor (B014) into the transmission housing.

  6. Reconnect

Reconnect the X163 wiring harness connector.

  7. Calibration/Testing

Turn the ignition ON. Clear the stored 04.1.42 fault code from the tractor's memory using the Variotronic terminal. Test drive the tractor and monitor the 'REAL' transmission adjustment values in the diagnostics menu to ensure the new sensor is broadcasting the correct speed signal.

Parts you might need

(7)
  • Speed Sensor (B014/B015) / Transmission Speed Sensor / Hydrostatic Collecting Shaft Sensor

    ACX360963A

This inductive Hall-effect sensor is used interchangeably for both the B014 (accumulator shaft) and B015 (bevel pinion) speed monitoring locations on most Vario transmissions.
