04.1.45

Fendt 04.1.45 – Transmission Control System: B015 - Sensor, bevel pinion (=travel speed)

Issue description

Triggered when the system detects that the B015 Hall sensor is faulty or is sending an erratic/missing speed signal. Frequently caused by a faulty 8.5 V power supply to the sensor.

Applies to these machines

  • 309 Vario COM III
  • 310 Vario COM III
  • 311 Vario COM III
  • 312 Vario COM III
  • 922 Vario COM III
  • 924 Vario COM III
  • 927 Vario COM III
  • 930 Vario COM III
  • 933 Vario COM III
  • 936 Vario COM III
  • Fendt 300 Vario (COM III)
  • Fendt 400 Vario / Farmer 400 (COM III)
  • Fendt 700 Vario / Favorit 700 (COM III)
  • Fendt 800 Vario (COM III)
  • Fendt 900 Vario / Favorit 900 (COM III)

Check the cause

  1. Check Fuse 08 on the A013 fuse board for a loss of the 8.5V power supply (most common electrical cause).

  2. Disconnect the B015 sensor and use a multimeter to verify that the 8.5 V supply is reaching the connector when the ignition is ON.

  3. Inspect the wiring harness between the B015 sensor and the Transmission Control Unit for breaks, chafing, or corrosion.

  4. Verify if the tractor can still move in emergency mode, which confirms the mechanical driveline is intact and isolates the issue to the electronic speed monitoring circuit.

Repair steps

  1. Locate the Sensor

Locate the B015 bevel pinion speed sensor on the Vario transmission housing.

  2. Disconnect Electronics

Carefully unplug the electrical connector from the B015 sensor.

  3. Remove the Sensor

Remove the retaining bolt(s) securing the sensor to the transmission housing and pull the sensor straight out.

  4. Install the New Sensor

Lubricate the O-ring on the new sensor with clean transmission oil. Insert it into the housing and tighten the retaining bolt to OEM torque specifications.

  5. Reconnect and Clear Codes

Reconnect the wiring harness. Turn the ignition ON and use the tractor's terminal or a diagnostic tool (like TEXA or FENDIAS) to clear the stored 04.1.45 fault code.

  6. Test Drive

Operate the tractor to ensure the travel speed registers correctly on the dash and that the transmission shifts out of emergency mode.
