04.1.82

Fendt 04.1.82 – A050 - ECU, basic control unit: Plausibility error (= speeds do not match)

Issue description

The system has detected that the rotational speed and direction signals coming from two specific Hall sensors (B014 and B015) on the Vario transmission do not logically correspond with each other when the tractor is traveling at speeds above 5 km/h.

Applies to these machines

Check the cause

  1. Check the wiring harness and connectors between the A050 ECU and sensors B014 and B015 for physical damage, corrosion, or loose pins

  2. Verify the 8.5V power supply to the sensors (usually protected by a microfuse on the A013 PCB, e.g., fuse 7, 8, or 16)

  3. Inspect the B016 sensor (travel range detection potentiometer), as a failure here can sometimes trigger related plausibility faults

  4. Attempt to run the transmission calibration procedure (Calibration code 4003) via the tractor's terminal. If calibration fails, the sub-fault code will pinpoint the exact failed component (F07 = B015 faulty, F08 = B014 faulty)

Repair steps

  1. Preparation

Ensure the tractor is parked safely on level ground, the handbrake is applied, and the ignition is turned OFF.

  2. Locate the Sensors

Locate the faulty sensor (B014 or B015) on the Vario transmission insert / control housing.

  3. Removal

Disconnect the electrical connector from the faulty sensor. Remove the retaining hardware and carefully extract the Hall sensor from the transmission housing.

  4. Installation

Install the new sensor into the housing and secure it to the specified torque. Reconnect the electrical connector.

  5. Calibration

Turn the ignition ON. You must perform the transmission calibration procedure (Calibration code 4003) using the tractor's terminal to relearn the neutral position and travel range detection.

  6. Testing

Clear any stored fault codes from the A050 ECU memory and test drive the tractor above 5 km/h to ensure the 04.1.82 fault code does not return.
