04.1.83

Fendt 04.1.83 – A050 - ECU, basic control unit: Plausibility error between hydrostatic collecting shaft sensor (B014) and bevel pinion sensor (B015)

Issue description

A plausibility error indicating that the rotational speed and direction signals from the hydrostatic collecting shaft Hall sensor (B014) and the bevel pinion Hall sensor (B015) do not match. The fault is typically triggered at speeds of 5 km/h or higher, restricting normal operation but allowing continuation in emergency mode.

Check the cause

  1. Check the 8.5 V power supply to the sensors via the A013 microfuse board (check fuse 7, 8, or 16 depending on the model)

  2. Inspect wiring harnesses and separation points (X163 for B014 and X164 for B015) for continuity, short circuits, or corrosion between the sensors and the A050 ECU

  3. Verify the travel range detection sensor (B016) or range change potentiometer is functioning correctly, as faults here can cause related plausibility errors

  4. Use the Variotronic Ti terminal or FENDIAS diagnostic software to monitor live speed outputs of B014 and B015 to identify which sensor is dropping the signal or providing erratic readings

Repair steps

  1. Safely park the tractor on level ground, apply the handbrake, and turn off the ignition.

  2. Locate the B014 (hydrostatic collecting shaft) and B015 (bevel pinion) sensors on the Vario transmission insert/control housing.

  3. Disconnect the electrical harness from the suspect sensor(s).

  4. Remove the retaining bolts and carefully extract the faulty sensor from the transmission housing.

  5. Clean the mounting port to ensure no debris falls into the transmission.

  6. Install the new B014 and/or B015 sensor and tighten to the specified torque.

  7. Reconnect the electrical harness.

  8. Turn on the ignition and use the tractor's terminal to clear the stored fault codes.

  9. Test drive the tractor above 5 km/h to ensure the plausibility error does not return and the transmission shifts correctly.
