Fendt 04.1.84 – MFA (Multifunction Armrest): Plausibility error (=signals do not match logically) originating from the Joystick switch (V, R, VR, cruise control, default position)
Issue description
The system detects that the electrical signals being sent from the joystick's directional or cruise control switches are contradictory or outside the expected parameters.
Applies to these machines

Check the cause
Visual & Tactile Inspection: Check the physical condition of the joystick. Look for sticking buttons, torn rubber boots, or damaged foil switches on the cruise control and directional (V, R, VR) buttons.
Signal Testing: Use the FENDIAS diagnostic tool to monitor the live data from the MFA (A039/A100/A002). Verify the state of the joystick switches (forward, reverse, cruise control) to see which specific switch is sending the implausible or stuck signal.
Wiring & Connection Check: Inspect the wiring harness and the multi-pin connector at the base of the joystick inside the armrest. Look for pinched wires, corrosion, or loose pins that could cause a signal drop-out.
Restart & Clear: Cycle the tractor's key power to see if the plausibility error clears. If it returns immediately upon moving the joystick, the internal microswitches or circuit board are likely failed.
Repair steps
Park the tractor on a level surface, engage the parking brake, turn off the engine, and disconnect the battery to prevent electrical shorts.
