Fendt 04.1.B2 – A002 / A050: Fault in EPROM programming (travel range selector I/II)

EPROM programming is faulty, affecting the tractor's transmission ratio limiting. The primary consequence is that the travel range cannot be changed while driving.

   Verify symptoms by confirming that the tractor is locked out of changing travel ranges (I/II) while in motion.

   Check the A002/A050 ECU voltage supply and CAN bus communication, as voltage drops can sometimes trigger EPROM/memory faults.

   Read active codes using the Fendt multiple display or FENDIAS diagnostic tool to verify if 04.1.B2 is the only code present.

   Connect Diagnostic Tool

   Connect the tractor to the FENDIAS diagnostic software.

   Perform EOL Programming

   Perform EOL (End-Of-Line) reprogramming on the A002 (or A050) ECU to restore the correct travel range selector parameters. This addresses the software/memory issue causing the fault.

   Clear Fault Memory

   Once the EOL programming is complete, clear the fault code using the FENDIAS diagnostic software. Note that fault codes stored in the A002/A050 ECU cannot be deleted via the dashboard terminal.

   Test Drive

   Drive the tractor and attempt to change the travel range (I/II) while in motion to verify the repair was successful.

   ECU Replacement/Repair

   If the ECU fails to accept the EOL programming, the EPROM or the entire control unit is defective and must be sent out for repair or replaced.
