04.1.B4

Fendt 04.1.B4 – A002 - ECU, enhanced control: Input parameter values for plausibility monitoring are incorrect.

Issue description

The system has detected that the input parameters being monitored for plausibility are out of the expected range or incorrect. When this occurs, the system defaults to storing standard parameters so that the plausibility monitoring system remains functional. Rapid reversing remains possible but will operate using these standard default values.

Applies to these machines

  • 309 Vario COM III
  • 310 Vario COM III
  • 311 Vario COM III
  • 312 Vario COM III
  • 300 Vario series
  • 400 Vario series
  • 700 Vario series
  • 800 Vario series
  • 900 Vario series

Check the cause

  1. Scan for related codes using an AGCO 2x4 CANUSB diagnostic scanner or FENDIAS to check for other active sensor codes that could be feeding bad data.

  2. Check CAN bus communication by verifying the wiring harness and connectors going to the A002 ECU for corrosion, loose pins, or damage.

  3. Verify Tractor Management System (TMS) operation by testing the rapid reversing and pedal modes to confirm the ECU is operating on default/standard values.

Repair steps

  1. Connect Diagnostic Equipment

Connect the AGCO diagnostic scanner to the tractor's diagnostic port.

  2. Perform EOL Programming

Flash the A002 ECU with the correct parameter files for the specific tractor chassis.

  3. Clear and Retest

Clear the fault code and cycle the ignition. Test the tractor's rapid reversing and TMS functions to ensure the plausibility monitoring system is reading live parameters correctly.

  4. Inspect/Replace ECU

If the A002 ECU refuses to accept EOL programming or the EEPROM is physically corrupted, the module itself has failed and must be removed for remanufacturing or replacement.
