Fendt 04.1.E6 – A050 - ECU, basic control unit: Incorrect checksum, load limit control parameters
Issue description
The basic control unit has detected a memory/checksum error specifically related to the parameters that govern the transmission's load limit control. The tractor will default to 'Emergency mode, transmission' to protect the drivetrain.

Check the cause
Use the tractor's terminal to confirm if 04.1.E6 is currently active or stored in history.
Look for accompanying A050 EEPROM/memory faults (such as 04.1.E7 or 04.1.E9) which indicate broader memory corruption within the ECU.
Assess drivability to confirm that the tractor is locked in transmission emergency mode. If the tractor drives normally, the code may be an old stored fault that simply needs to be cleared via diagnostic software.
Repair steps
Connect Diagnostic Equipment
Connect the AGCO 2x4 CANUSB Diagnostic Tool to the tractor's G and K bus diagnostic ports.
Launch Software
Open the Fendt FENDIAS diagnostic software and run the EOL programming module (e.g., EOL 7.76 or newer).
Establish Connection
Select 'Programming Development' and input the tractor's chassis number to build the connection.
Flash the ECU
Select the A050 Basic Control Unit and initiate the EOL programming sequence to rewrite the factory parameters. This process typically takes 15–20 minutes.
Reboot the System
Once the software prompts that devices have been switched into bootloader mode and programming is successful, perform a hard reset: Turn Ignition 'OFF', wait 15 seconds, then turn Ignition 'ON'.
Verify Repair
Clear the fault codes and test drive the tractor to ensure it has exited transmission emergency mode.
Replace ECU
If the EOL programming fails, aborts, or the 04.1.E6 code immediately returns, the A050 ECU has suffered a hard internal EEPROM failure and must be removed for specialized repair or replacement.
