Fendt 04.1.ED – Transmission Control Unit (A050 / A009): B017 - Clutch pedal rotary position sensor Signal Fault
Issue description
The system detects that the sensor has no calibration, or the sensor's values have drifted, changed, or present a plausibility error. The tractor will lose enhanced control functions in final speed control. The Tempomat (cruise control) function becomes unavailable, and the TMS (Tractor Management System) is switched off. The tractor can usually continue to operate in emergency mode.

Check the cause
Check the Power Supply: Test the voltage at the sensor connector for the required 8.5 V supply. If faulty or missing, check A013 Fuse 8.
Wiring Harness Inspection: Inspect the wiring harness for shorts or breaks between the clutch pedal sensor and the A050/A009 Transmission ECU.
Plausibility Check: Verify mechanically and electrically that the pedal is actuating properly and that the signal changes smoothly without dropping out.
Repair steps
Disconnect the battery or ensure the tractor is powered off.
Ensure the tractor is powered off before beginning the repair.
Locate the B017 clutch pedal rotary position sensor.
Find the sensor at the base of the clutch pedal assembly.
Disconnect the electrical harness.
Disconnect the electrical harness from the sensor.
Remove the faulty sensor.
Unbolt and remove the faulty B017 sensor.
Install the new sensor.
Install the new OEM clutch pedal sensor and reconnect the wiring harness.
Calibrate the new sensor.
The tractor's transmission control unit will not recognize the new sensor's sweep automatically. You must calibrate the new sensor using the tractor's terminal.
Enter Calibration Code.
Enter Calibration Code "4001" (Calibration - clutch pedal sensor) into the onboard diagnostic system to teach the ECU the new sensor's parameters.
Clear fault codes and test drive.
Clear the stored 04.1.ED / 4.1.04 fault codes and test drive the tractor to ensure TMS and cruise control functions have been restored.
