04.1.F1

Fendt 04.1.F1 – A050 - Basic Control Unit ECU (EXT): A050 - ECU, basic control unit

Issue description

Checksum parameter for stationary control incorrect. The internal memory (EEPROM) of the basic control unit has detected a data mismatch or corruption regarding the parameters used for stationary tractor operation (e.g., stationary PTO operation). The tractor will default to Emergency mode.

Applies to these machines

  • 922 Vario COM III
  • 924 Vario COM III
  • 927 Vario COM III
  • 930 Vario COM III
  • 933 Vario COM III
  • 936 Vario COM III
  • Fendt 300 Vario
  • Fendt 400 Vario
  • Fendt 700 Vario
  • Fendt 800 Vario
  • Fendt 900 Vario

Check the cause

  1. Check for accompanying A050-related codes (such as 04.1.F2, 04.1.F3, or EEPROM read/write errors like 08.1.A1/A2). Multiple memory errors usually point to a failing module rather than a simple software glitch.

  2. Verify power and ground at the A050 module (measured at separation point X169): Pin 3 (+UB) should have steady battery voltage, and Pin 1 should have a solid Earth/Ground.

  3. Attempt to clear the code using the tractor's terminal or a diagnostic tool (like FENDIAS or TEXA) to see if the checksum error was a momentary voltage-drop anomaly.

Repair steps

  1. Connect diagnostic tool

Connect the FENDIAS dealer diagnostic interface (or a compatible equivalent like TEXA Off-Highway) to the tractor's diagnostic port.

  2. Perform EOL programming

Re-flash or re-calibrate the A050 Basic Control Unit using EOL (End-Of-Line) programming to rewrite the corrupted stationary control parameters.

  3. Test stationary functions

After successful EOL programming, test the tractor's stationary functions (such as stationary PTO engagement) to ensure the parameters are functioning and the code does not return.

  4. Replace or repair module

If the diagnostic tool cannot communicate with the A050 unit, or if the EOL programming fails to write to the EEPROM, the A050 basic control unit has suffered an internal hardware failure and must be replaced or sent to a specialized agricultural electronics repair facility.

Parts you might need

(7)
  • Fendt Basic Control Unit (A050)

    G737.970.070.035

A replacement A050 module is not plug-and-play. A blank or donor module will require EOL programming via FENDIAS to match the specific tractor's equipment and chassis configuration.

  • Fendt Basic Control Unit (A050)

    G737.970.070.037

A replacement A050 module is not plug-and-play. A blank or donor module will require EOL programming via FENDIAS to match the specific tractor's equipment and chassis configuration.

  • Fendt Basic Control Unit (A050)
