Fendt 05.1.33 – 4WD ENHANCED CONTROL / Transmission Control System (A002): Actuation fault with component Y009 - 4WD clutch solenoid valve

The system detects an actuation fault (such as an open circuit, short circuit, or failed solenoid coil) with the Y009 4WD clutch solenoid valve. Power is lost to the valve, causing the fail-safe system to default to permanently engaging the 4WD.

   Locate electrical connector X320 at the Y009 solenoid valve and inspect for dirt, corrosion, or pushed-out pins.

   Measure voltage at connector X320 while toggling the 4WD switch (should be 14 VDC or 12 VDC for OFF, 0 VDC for ON) to rule out wiring or A002 ECU issues.

   Measure resistance across the Y009 solenoid coil pins (an infinite reading indicates a dead solenoid).

   Verify the integrity of the earth pin (Pin 22 on 900 series) to ensure proper grounding.

   Preparation

   Park the tractor on a level surface, engage the parking brake, lower all implements, and turn off the ignition.

   Locate the Valve

   The Y009 solenoid is typically located on the right side of the tractor on the valve block for the enhanced control hydraulics. On many models (like the 300 and 900 Vario), you must remove the right rear wheel and a protective metal guard to access it.

   Disconnect Electrics

   Unplug the X320 electrical connector from the Y009 solenoid.

   Clean the Area

   Thoroughly clean the valve block area around the solenoid with brake cleaner to prevent dirt from entering the transmission/hydraulic circuit when the valve is removed.

   Remove the Valve

   Unscrew the faulty Y009 solenoid valve. Have a catch pan ready, as a small amount of hydraulic oil will escape.

   Install the New Valve

   Lubricate the O-rings on the new OEM solenoid valve with clean hydraulic oil. Thread it into the valve block and tighten it to the manufacturer's specified torque.

   Reassembly

   Reconnect the X320 electrical connector. Reinstall the protective metal guard and the right rear wheel (ensure wheel nuts are torqued to spec).

   Clear Codes & Test

   Turn on the ignition, navigate to the tractor's terminal, and clear the stored 05.1.33 fault code. Start the tractor and test the 4WD engagement/disengagement to confirm the repair.
