Fendt 05.1.34 – Transmission Control System / Overall System (Tractor): B067 - Sensor, steering angle

A signal fault indicating that the steering angle sensor is faulty, or that it is not receiving the correct voltage (faulty 8.5 V supply, A013, fuse 16). When active, this impacts the Suspension/Auto-Guide systems, and the 4WD / differential lock automatic mode will cease to function properly.

   Check the Power Supply: Verify the 8.5 V supply to the sensor (designated as A013).

   Check the Fuses: Inspect Fuse 16, which protects the steering angle sensor circuit.

   Inspect Wiring: Check the wiring harness and universal joint linkage at the front axle for physical damage, corrosion, or disconnection (refer to circuit diagram Sheet 9 in the Fendt manual).

   Remove the Old Sensor

   Locate the steering angle sensor on the front axle tie-rod/steering cylinder area. Disconnect the electrical harness and unbolt the linkage rods. Note: Do not manually rotate the new sensor beyond its mechanical stops (180 degrees) while disconnected, as this will permanently damage the internal potentiometer.

   Install the New Sensor

   Mount the new sensor and attach the linkage rods. Ensure the linkage rods remain detached while the steering system is turned to the maximum right and left positions to verify fitment without over-extending the sensor.

   Calibrate the Sensor

   The steering angle sensor (2401) and steering valve must be calibrated before being used for the first time. Apply the hand brake and start the engine. Confirm and clear the warning/fault messages displayed on the instrument panel by pressing the ESC key. Press RETURN to access the main menu on the multiple display. Navigate to the VarioGuide menu. Select the calibration option for the steering angle sensor and follow the terminal prompts to calibrate the middle position and full lock angles.
