05.1.53

Fendt 05.1.53 – Comfort Hydraulics: Y010 - Solenoid valve, differential lock (rear)

Issue description

Actuation fault. The system is trying to engage the rear differential lock, but the Y010 solenoid valve is failing to actuate properly, causing the differential lock to disengage or fail to engage.

Applies to these machines

  • 310 Vario COM III
  • 311 Vario COM III
  • 312 Vario COM III
  • 922 Vario COM III
  • 924 Vario COM III
  • 927 Vario COM III
  • 930 Vario COM III
  • 933 Vario COM III
  • 936 Vario COM III
  • 200 V/F/P Vario
  • 300 Vario (COM III)
  • 400 Vario (COM III)
  • 700 Vario (COM III, SCR, S4)
  • 800 Vario (COM III, SCR, S4)
  • 900 Vario (COM III, SCR, S4, Gen6)
  • 1000 Vario S4

Check the cause

  1. Refer to the '4WD / Diff. Lock' circuit diagram (specifically Sheet 6, Differential Lock Enhanced Control) for your specific tractor model

  2. Locate the Y010 solenoid valve (typically mounted externally on top of the rear frame transmission housing) and visually inspect the wiring harness and electrical connector for dirt, corrosion, moisture, or physical damage

  3. Test the solenoid coil for proper resistance

  4. Verify that the valve is receiving the correct voltage signal from the controller when the differential lock switch in the cab is activated

Repair steps

  1. Preparation

Ensure the tractor is parked on a level surface, the engine is off, and the hydraulic system is depressurized.

  2. Disconnect

Carefully unplug the electrical connector from the Y010 differential lock solenoid valve.

  3. Removal

Unbolt and remove the faulty solenoid valve from the hydraulic control block / transmission housing.

  4. Installation

Install the new solenoid valve. Ensure that all internal valve components, O-rings, and seals are properly seated to prevent hydraulic fluid leaks.

  5. Reconnect

Reattach the electrical connector, ensuring it is clean and securely fastened to prevent corrosion.

  6. Clear Codes & Test

Turn the tractor on, clear the stored 05.1.53 fault code from the terminal memory (each stored code must be cleared individually on Fendt displays), and test the differential lock engagement to ensure the system operates smoothly.
