Fendt 05.1.54 – Basic Control Unit ECU (EXT) / Transmission Control System (A050): S006 - Switch, left brake
Issue description
The system has detected a signal fault or a faulty switch on the left brake pedal. The Tractor Management System (TMS) is automatically switched off, and the system defaults to a safety state where the '100% differential lock' is the only function still available.

Check the cause
Turn the ignition off and back on to reset the system and see if the fault clears
Inspect the wiring harness and connector going to the S006 left brake switch for continuity, corrosion, or shorts
Check the physical magnet setting and gap for the S006 switch (on Vario models) to ensure it has not vibrated out of alignment
Repair steps
Power Down
Turn off the tractor ignition and disconnect the battery to prevent electrical shorts.
Locate the Switch
Locate the S006 left brake switch/sensor assembly at the base of the left brake pedal.
Disconnect
Unplug the electrical wiring harness connector from the switch.
Remove the Faulty Switch
For magnetic sensors (Vario models), unbolt the sensor bracket/housing. For mechanical switches (older models), unthread the switch from its mounting bracket.
Install the New Switch
Mount the replacement switch. Crucial step for Vario models: You must adjust the 'Magnet setting for S005/S006 switch' to ensure the sensor properly detects the pedal's resting and depressed positions.
Reassemble and Test
Reconnect the electrical harness, reconnect the battery, and cycle the ignition. Test the brake pedal to ensure the TMS system reactivates and the 05.1.54 code is cleared.
