05.1.55

Fendt 05.1.55 – Transmission Control System: Signal fault or faulty switch at S005 - Switch, right brake

Issue description

Indicates a signal fault or faulty switch at S005 - Switch, right brake (also referred to as the right brake pedal solenoid switch or magnetic switch). When this fault is triggered, the Tractor Management System (TMS) is automatically switched off, and the automatic differential lock / 4WD automatic mode becomes unavailable.

Applies to these machines

  • 922 Vario COM III
  • 924 Vario COM III
  • 927 Vario COM III
  • 930 Vario COM III
  • 933 Vario COM III
  • 936 Vario COM III
  • Fendt 200 Vario (V/F/P)
  • Fendt 300 Vario (COM III)
  • Fendt 400 Vario (COM III)
  • Fendt 700 Vario (COM III, SCR, S4)
  • Fendt 800 Vario (COM III, S4)
  • Fendt 900 Vario (COM III, SCR, S4)

Check the cause

  1. Verify the tractor has a 1-circuit brake system, as the S005 switch is exclusive to this configuration

  2. Inspect connector X217 (the electrical separation point for S005) for corrosion, loose pins, or wiring damage

  3. On Vario models utilizing a magnetic brake switch, verify the magnet setting and alignment for the S005 switch, as a misaligned magnet will cause a signal fault

Repair steps

  1. Locate the Switch

The S005 switch is located in the cab, on the right side of the steering column, directly at the top of the right brake pedal.

  2. Access the Component

Depending on the exact model, detach the steering column cover or remove the lower dashboard panel to gain access to the top of the brake pedals.

  3. Test/Adjust

Check the physical actuation of the switch when the right pedal is depressed. If it is a magnetic switch, adjust the magnet setting to ensure it falls within the specified proximity range.

  4. Replace

If the switch is internally shorted or fails to send a signal after adjustment, disconnect connector X217, unbolt/unclip the S005 switch from the pedal assembly, and install the replacement.

  5. Reassemble

Reconnect X217, reinstall the dashboard/steering column cover, and clear the fault codes. Test the TMS and 4WD automatic modes to ensure functionality has returned.
