05.1.57

Fendt 05.1.57 – A050 - ECU, basic control unit (EXT): Checksum error, calibration data

Issue description

Data corruption or memory error within the tractor's basic operating system, resulting in automatic functions being disabled (no auto mode possible).

Applies to these machines

  • 922 Vario COM III
  • 924 Vario COM III
  • 927 Vario COM III
  • 930 Vario COM III
  • 933 Vario COM III
  • 936 Vario COM III
  • Fendt 300 Vario (COM III)
  • Fendt 400 Vario (COM III)
  • Fendt 700 Vario (COM III)
  • Fendt 800 Vario (COM III)
  • Fendt 900 Vario (COM III)

Check the cause

  1. Verify symptoms by confirming that the tractor is unable to enter auto mode.

  2. Use the tractor's multiple display terminal to call up the fault code and determine if it is active or stored.

  3. Attempt to clear the fault code using Fendt's diagnostic software (FENDIAS), as codes stored in the A050 Basic Control Unit cannot be deleted via the standard dashboard button combination.

Repair steps

  1. Perform EOL Programming

Connect the tractor to the FENDIAS diagnostic tool and re-flash/recalibrate the A050 control unit to restore the corrupted calibration data.

  2. Test Module

If EOL programming fails to resolve the checksum error, the A050 ECU likely has an internal hardware failure (such as a faulty EEPROM).

  3. Remove and Repair/Replace A050 Basic Control Unit

Remove the A050 Basic Control Unit. You can either send the unit to a specialized agricultural electronics repair service (such as Ilgenfritz Mechatronics) or replace it with a new unit.

  4. Perform Post-Installation Calibration

If the unit is replaced or repaired, EOL programming and calibration must be performed again so the immobilizer and engine control unit (A169) can sync data (tractor serial number, performance curves, etc.) with the A050.
