   Check for breaks, chafing, or shorts in the wiring harness between the S087 switch and the A050 ECU (consult the trailer brake/overall system circuit diagram, often Sheet 11).

   Park the tractor on a level surface, engage the parking brake, and turn off the engine.

   Depending on the exact Vario model, access the left rear axle/brake housing.
