Fendt 05.1.6E – ENHANCED CONTROL ECU: Suspension position sensor - Incorrect calibration
Issue description
The system has detected that the front axle suspension position sensor is out of calibration or the calibration data has been lost. The front axle suspension becomes non-operational and moves to a 'locked' status.
Applies to these machines
10 machines- 309 Vario COM III
- 310 Vario COM III
- 311 Vario COM III
- 312 Vario COM III
- Fendt 200 Vario (V / F / P)
- Fendt 300 Vario
- Fendt 400 Vario
- Fendt 700 Vario
- Fendt 800 Vario
- Fendt 900 Vario
Check the cause
Inspect the wiring harness and connector for the position sensor (located between the frame and the engine on the side of the hydraulic tank) for physical damage from branches or debris.
Verify the 8.5V power supply to the sensor by checking fuse A013 (Fuse 5) in the fuseboard, as a blown fuse will cause signal faults.
Perform a hydraulic cylinder leak-down test. If the suspension slowly drops under load and suddenly corrects itself, the issue may be internal leakage in the suspension cylinders or depleted nitrogen accumulators rather than a faulty sensor.
Repair steps
Repair or replace damaged components
If the wiring harness is damaged, repair the broken wires. If the sensor itself is physically broken or failing electrically, replace the B003 suspension position sensor.
Re-calibrate the suspension
Because the root cause of the 05.1.6E code is 'Incorrect Calibration,' the system must be recalibrated after any repair, sensor replacement, or memory wipe.
Enter Calibration Mode
Access the tractor's VARIOWIN / ENHANCED DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM terminal.
Input Calibration Code
Enter the specific suspension calibration code: 7666.
Complete the routine
Follow the on-screen prompts to cycle the suspension through its full range of motion so the ECU can relearn the upper and lower limits of the position sensor.
Clear codes
Once calibration is successful, clear the stored 05.1.6E fault code from the tractor's memory and test drive to ensure the suspension remains active.
