Fendt 06.1.04 – REAR PTO ENHANCED CONTROL: Y008 - Solenoid valve, rear PTO (clutch)
Issue description
Actuation fault. This indicates an electrical issue (such as an open circuit, short circuit, or failed coil) with the solenoid valve responsible for engaging the rear Power Take-Off (PTO) clutch. The rear PTO disengages automatically and cannot be operated normally.

Check the cause
Verify the 12V power supply to the PTO control system, checking associated fuses (e.g., Fuse 13 or Fuse 34, designated as A013).
Inspect the wiring harness and connector (X319) at the Y008 solenoid valve for corrosion, broken wires, or loose pins.
Test the Y008 solenoid coil resistance using a multimeter to check for an open circuit or dead short indicating a failed coil.
Repair steps
Locate the Valve
The Y008 solenoid valve is typically located on the rear axle housing. For example, on the 400 Vario series, it is found at the rear right of the rear axle housing, accessible by unscrewing a cover panel.
Preparation
Ensure the tractor is turned off, the key is removed, and hydraulic pressure in the system is relieved. Clean the area around the solenoid to prevent dirt from entering the hydraulic block.
Removal
Disconnect the X319 electrical connector from the Y008 solenoid. Unscrew the solenoid valve cartridge from the hydraulic manifold/housing.
Installation
Lubricate the O-rings on the new solenoid valve with clean hydraulic oil. Thread the new valve into the housing and tighten it to the manufacturer's specified torque.
Reconnection
Reconnect the electrical connector.
Testing
Turn on the tractor, clear the stored 06.1.04 fault code via the terminal/diagnostic menu, and test the rear PTO engagement to ensure the fault does not return.
