06.1.13

Fendt 06.1.13 – Rear PTO subsystem: B020 - Sensor, rear PTO speed (stub shaft)

Issue description

Overspeed warning. The sensor is reading a rotational speed at the rear PTO stub shaft that exceeds the expected or safe operational limits, which could be due to a genuine overspeed event, a faulty sensor sending erratic signals, or a wiring issue.

Check the cause

  1. Verify the 12V supply to the B020 sensor by checking Fuse 35 on module A013

  2. Inspect the wiring harness and connector for the B020 sensor for chafing, corrosion, or shorts (reference Circuit diagram Sheet 10)

  3. Perform an emergency bypass test by pressing and holding the emergency PTO button in the cab for 5 seconds to determine if the issue is purely a signal fault

  4. Clear stored fault codes individually from the memory to see if the code actively returns upon startup

Repair steps

  1. Locate the Sensor

Locate the B020 inductive speed sensor at the rear of the tractor, positioned to read the rotational speed of the rear PTO stub shaft.

  2. Disconnect

Unplug the electrical connector from the sensor. Inspect the pins for moisture or dirt ingress.

  3. Remove

Unbolt the retaining hardware holding the sensor in place and pull the sensor straight out of its housing.

  4. Install

Insert the new 40mm inductive speed sensor into the port. Secure it with the retaining bolt.

  5. Reconnect

Plug the electrical harness back into the sensor, ensuring it clicks and locks into place.

  6. Clear and Test

Turn the tractor's ignition on. Access the terminal to clear the stored 06.1.13 fault code. Run the tractor and engage the rear PTO to verify that the overspeed warning does not return and that the RPMs read accurately on the dash.
