Fendt 06.1.1A – Enhanced Control Unit: Y026 - Solenoid valve, rear PTO, stage I (Speed rate 540) Actuation fault

The tractor's control system has detected an electrical or mechanical actuation error with the Y026 solenoid valve, which is responsible for engaging the 540 RPM speed stage of the rear Power Take-Off (PTO). The valve may be incorrectly wired, electrically shorted/open, or mechanically seized in the 'OFF' position. As a result, the rear PTO cannot be engaged in the 540 RPM setting.

   Inspect the wiring harness and the electrical connector at the Y026 solenoid valve for chafed wires, corrosion, or loose pins.

   Test the resistance of the Y026 solenoid coil with a multimeter and compare it against adjacent valves (Y027 or Y028) to check for an internal short or open coil.

   Remove the coil and check if the valve cartridge is mechanically seized due to hydraulic contamination.

   Perform an emergency mode test by pressing and holding the 'PTO clutch ON/OFF' key for more than 5 seconds to see if electric speed selection is possible.

   Verify there are no concurrent codes for the B020 Hall-effect speed sensor on the rear PTO stub shaft, as conflicting speed signals can interrupt PTO engagement.

   Preparation

   Park the tractor on a level surface, turn off the engine, engage the parking brake, and relieve all hydraulic pressure.

   Locate the Valve Block

   Locate the rear PTO control valve block, typically situated on the rear transmission/hydraulic housing. Identify the Y026 solenoid (refer to the tractor's specific hydraulic schematic to distinguish it from Y027 and Y028).

   Disconnect Electrics

   Carefully unplug the electrical harness connector from the Y026 solenoid.

   Remove the Valve

   Remove the retaining nut holding the solenoid coil. If replacing the entire cartridge valve, use the appropriate wrench to unthread the valve cartridge from the manifold block. Have a catch pan ready for minor hydraulic oil spillage.

   Inspect the Port

   Check the manifold port for metal shavings or debris that could have caused the original valve to seize.

   Install the New Valve

   Lubricate the O-rings on the new solenoid valve with clean hydraulic oil. Thread it into the block and tighten to the OEM torque specification. Slide the coil over the cartridge and secure the retaining nut.

   Reconnect and Clear

   Reconnect the electrical harness. Turn on the tractor ignition and use the terminal to clear the 06.1.1A fault code.

   Test Operation

   Start the tractor and test the rear PTO engagement specifically in the 540 RPM stage to confirm the repair.
