Fendt 06.1.43 – REAR PTO ENHANCED CONTROL: S019 - Left external 'Rear PTO ON / OFF' pushbutton

The left rear fender PTO button has registered as being pressed for more than 30 continuous seconds, indicating a mechanical jam or electrical short. As a safety consequence, PTO speed preselection is disabled, and the rear PTO cannot be engaged.

   Visual & Mechanical Inspection: Check the S019 button on the left rear mudguard/fender. Verify if it is physically stuck in the depressed position due to dirt, debris, or physical damage.

   Electrical Testing (Switch): Disconnect the switch and use a multimeter to test for continuity. If there is continuity across the contacts while the button is not being pressed, the switch has failed internally and is shorted.

   Wiring Harness Inspection: Inspect the wiring harness leading to the switch. Look for chafed wires that might be shorting to the tractor's chassis (ground) or a short across the wires, which would mimic a continuously pressed button.

   Power Down

   Turn off the tractor and disconnect the battery to prevent electrical shorts during the repair.

   Access the Switch

   Locate the S019 left external PTO switch on the rear fender.

   Disconnect Wiring

   Reach behind the fender panel and disconnect the electrical plug from the switch (this is typically a 3-pin AMP Superseal connector).

   Remove the Faulty Switch

   Unthread the retaining collar or depress the locking tabs (depending on the exact fender bezel) to push the old switch out of its mounting hole.

   Install the New Switch

   Insert the replacement switch into the 30mm mounting hole and secure it.

   Reconnect and Seal

   Plug the AMP Superseal connector into the new switch. Ensure the rubber weather-sealing boot is intact to prevent future moisture ingress.

   Test Operation

   Reconnect the battery. Start the tractor and test the PTO engagement at a low RPM to ensure the fault code has cleared and the PTO engages and disengages safely.
